Let’s do this.

Trafficking: verification of what changed after the 5 November fresh read, 6 November 2026

The working record behind the pages, published as written. Source file source/verify/trafficking-2026-11-06-additions.md. All records.

Scope. Every claim in a line added or changed in content/trafficking.html, content/trafficking-learn.html and content/trafficking-practice.html between ee6f7b8 and HEAD, from git diff ee6f7b8 HEAD -- <the three pages>, that has no row in source/verify/trafficking-2026-11-05.md. HEAD moved twice during the run: 244a844 at the start; 4764ebf changed one line in scope (the overview's languages line, row O3); 8551ff8 touched none of the three pages. One unchanged line on the Learn page (the "Next" button's minutes) was fixed because the Do page's re-ranking had made it wrong (row L11). Claims already in the 5 November table were not re-graded; those re-read today are in section 4. The Do page and every other file are out of scope; what turned up there is in section 5 as proposals. Nothing was committed.

Method. Every source was fetched fresh on 2026-11-06 between 09:25 and 09:40 EST (14:25 to 14:40 UTC; each fetch stamped from date). Each was pulled with curl (Safari user agent) into its own empty folder. HTML was stripped of tags by a one-file script run with python3 -I. PDFs were read with pdftotext in reading order, and with -layout for tables. The Europe PMC and doi.org APIs were read as returned JSON. WebFetch was tried once (Charlotte Observer) and refused. One web search was run, to see whether federal trafficking victim-service grants restarted on 1 July 2026. Its snippets settled nothing and no verdict rests on them. Every author name, title, year and venue was treated as unverified until read on the source's own record.

Verdicts. CONFIRMED = the source's words support the page as written. CORRECTED = the page was changed to match the source. NOT IN SOURCE = the cited source does not say it; the claim was reworded or removed. NEWER DATA, UNREACHABLE, BLOCKED, UNFETCHABLE: none for a source the pages cite (one context source was unreachable; see the fetch log). OWN = the site's own estimate or judgement, listed so nothing is skipped and not counted. Grades (the site's scale, content/about.html): primary = the original document; research = peer-reviewed work; evaluator; charity's, programme's or industry's own figures; news; our arithmetic; internal = this repo's own files.

Fetch log (2026-11-06, EST; "200" = HTTP status after redirects).

Rothman; Amy Farrell; Jennifer Paruk; Katherine Bright; Megn Bair-Merritt"; "Using a one-group longitudinal design, changes in participant behavior and CSE knowledge were measured at baseline (n = 354) upon group completion (n = 296), and 3 months after group completion (n = 241)." That is a prevention group for at-risk girls: not survivor-led, not 41 people, no 72% or 14%. OJP's library hosts the abstract; OJP is not the author. The 41-youth study: Rothman EF, Preis SR, Bright K, Paruk J, Bair-Merritt M, Farrell A, Child Abuse & Neglect vol. 100, article 104083, 2020 (first online 27 Jul 2019), doi 10.1016/j.chiabu.2019.104083.CORRECTED (wrong study linked and described)research→ "Rothman et al., evaluation of a survivor-mentor programme, Child Abuse & Neglect, 2020 (My Life My Choice; one group, 41 youth)", linked to https://doi.org/10.1016/j.chiabu.2019.104083
P21practices8: "misidentifications by trained airline staff via Jalopnik, 2021"Jalopnik200"By Lawrence Hodge November 9, 2021"CONFIRMED (date). "trained" dropped from the description to match P14.news→ "misidentifications by airline staff via Jalopnik, 9 November 2021 (one Southwest and two Frontier cases)"

OWN, not counted: the rhythm's "Ten minutes" and "Five minutes"; "Don't start a neighbourhood watch for this"; the checklist item "Asked my grocer about the Fair Food Program once." Already in the 5 Nov table, not re-graded: drill 1 (P2b), drill 4 (P5a, P5b; the page now says "recruited by a partner or a family member", and the source says "trafficked by romantic partners … and by family members"), drill 6 (P7), "late 2025" (P10), the checklist's giving line (P13), s1 (D33b, P14a), s4 (P7, P14b). The thirty-second prompt gained only data-share.

5. Proposals outside this pass's scope (not applied)

  1. content/trafficking-do.html (for the Do pass): a. Line 11, lede: "back the one kind of enforcement that has worked". Same overreach as O2; the page's own Q&A (line 117) credits import bans too. Suggest "back enforcement that workers run". b. Line 19: "2026 is the year the money for them ran out: more than a hundred federal victim-service grants ended on 1 October 2025 with $88 million unreleased." The source puts the start of the lapse at 1 October 2025 (O5). Suggest "The money for them ran out on 1 October 2025: more than a hundred federal victim-service grants ended with $88 million unreleased." c. Line 66 and s11: "Trained airline staff have reported interracial and adoptive families as traffickers at least four times since 2017; none were." s11 cites Jalopnik (three mixed-race cases) and Live and Let's Fly (13 May 2023). That post covers an American Airlines flight attendant who suspected a father travelling with his 13-year-old daughter. Its author writes: "I did not discuss the racial element since De Jesus’ daughter was never pictured." Neither source has a 2017 case; that one is NextShark/ABC15 (impact S12), not cited and not read today. Suggest "Airline staff have reported at least four families as traffickers, three of them mixed-race; none were," or match the Practice page's "at least three times" (P14).
  2. content/index.html line 17 (hub): "its funding ran out in 2026" has the same date problem as O5. Suggest "its federal funding lapsed in October 2025".
  3. content/do.html line 12: the trafficking card still says "Learn the signs. Save the number. Fifteen minutes." with "The signs · 10 min", "Give to recovery · 5 min", "The teen talk · tonight". The Do page, the overview and the hub now say "Pay for recovery. Know the number." and 25 minutes.
  4. Overview line 23: a footnote on "Many federal grants for it lapsed in October 2025" pointing to /trafficking/do/#s3. Not added because this pass allowed no new links.
  5. Practice s8: restore "Hotel and trucker training counts are self-reported." with its own sources, both read today. One is BEST, Inhospitable to Human Trafficking: Project Outcomes (2019; AAHOA copy, URL in the fetch log), graded industry's own figures. The other is FreightWaves, 12 January 2026, on Truckers Against Trafficking, graded charity's own figures via news.
  6. Practice drill intro (unchanged line): "the hotline, which exists for uncertain tips". The 5 Nov table marked it OWN (P1), and the impact review (§A2) notes the hotline describes itself as there for victims first. Suggest "the hotline, which takes reports of potential situations". The Get Help page asks people to call "about potential trafficking situations only" (5 Nov row P2b).
  7. Practice s7: the programme's results page now links FFP-2024-SOTP-DIGITAL-6.pdf, with the same figures. The cited DIGITAL-2 file still answers 200; switch if it goes.
  8. source/knowledge/trafficking.md line 19: "trained airline staff misidentified interracial and adoptive families at least four times (2017–2023)". Correct as in 1c.
  9. source/stale.tsv, rows to add:
  10. OTIP hotline data: FY2025 is the latest row (page updated 1 Sep 2026). FY2026 should follow the fiscal year; re-read in January 2027. Affects the Learn contest (L1, L3).
  11. FNUSA: the replacement grants were due on 1 July 2026. Whether they started is not established; one search found only the FY2026 notice (O-OVC-2026-172696, unread). Affects O5, Do step 1 and the hub.
  12. The January observance's name: re-read the presidential message each January (P1).
  13. The Fair Food Program's 2025 State of the Program report: not posted as of 6 Nov 2026 (P19).
  14. CHANGELOG.md: one reader-facing line for 6 November when this is committed.
  15. The three pages still say "checked: 5 Nov 2026". This pass re-read only the additions, so the date was left alone; bump it if the committer counts this pass.

39 verdicts in all. The two errors the brief warned about were both real. The Practice page's "With others" cited a different 2019 study for the 41-youth survivor-mentor figures (P20), and counted four airline cases from a source with three (P14). The Learn page's hotline paragraph credited the "fifth" to a source that gives 5% or 29% (L3), and dropped the condition on its quote (L2).

After the fixes: python3 tools/build.py ran clean, python3 tools/audit.py --quiet reported 0 problems, and python3 tools/links.py reported 0 problems across 34 pages. Headless Chrome found no horizontal overflow on the Practice page at 390 px (light), the Learn page at 390 px (dark) or the overview at 1280 px.
